About the Role
Fuselier Surveying & Mapping is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Technician to support our growing surveying and mapping operations.
This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from your home location, while contributing to a wide range of projects across Louisiana and Texas.

The CAD Technician will be responsible for preparing boundary surveys, topographic maps, and subdivision layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D. This role will support both field and office operations by processing survey data, generating deliverables, and maintaining drafting standards across projects. Experience with point cloud data and LiDAR processing using Global Mapper is a plus.
Requirements
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in survey drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surface creation, alignments, profiles, and plan production
Demonstrated experience in preparing:
Boundary surveys
Topographic surveys
Subdivision plats and layouts
Working knowledge of survey field data processing, including GPS and total station data integration
Ability to interpret and draft from:
Field notes
Deeds and legal descriptions
Title commitments
Plats, maps, and construction plans
Familiarity with point cloud and LiDAR datasets; experience using Global Mapper or similar software is a plus
Understanding of coordinate systems, datums, and basic survey calculations
Ability to maintain CAD standards, layering conventions, and file organization
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data organization and review
Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality deliverables
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote work environment
Strong communication skills for coordination with survey crews, project managers, and clients
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently from a home office setting
High-speed internet and appropriate home office setup required
